Matching Specialist- Denver office

Denver-Blake Street

Matching Specialist

Cultural Care Au Pair

Cambridge, MA

Please include a Cover Letter with your application.

About Cultural Care:

We help young adults from around the world make the impressive commitment to spend a year living away from family and friends to live with an American host family. Cultural Care Au Pair is a designated program sponsor under the U.S. Department of State’s federally regulated au pair program. We provide support and program management during this exchange year. Cultural Care has recently celebrated 25 years of bringing families and au pairs together. We are a worldwide organization based in more than 20 countries. The average tenure of our US staff is 6 years – and increasing!  We are now about 50% based in our Boston and Denver offices and 50% field based.

About the role:

The Matching Specialist role is super dynamic, working with host families during that special window of time between when they register for our program and when they select their au pair. You will listen to their (sometimes short, sometimes long) list of criteria, and guide them through this very important decision, which will directly affect their lives over the next year or more. You will talk to parents every day about their families, their schedules, their personalities, and their hopes for an amazing cultural exchange experience. If you can connect with people quickly, as well as follow up with a sense of urgency and desire to help, you will be great at this job. We guarantee lots of interesting stories!

This is a truly unique and diverse role in which your aptitude for active listening, problem-solving, keeping details straight and hitting weekly goals are all equally important. Your consultative approach and “soft” sales expertise will come in handy. You will be responsible for hitting goals within a defined region. Time management is essential as you keep track of your families and their needs. Sound overwhelming? It can be. If you’re the type that thrives on a challenge, we’re looking for you.

Some things about you:

  • You are competitive and love hitting goals.
  • You are adept at organizing multiple competing priorities
  • While others are bogged down in the reactive, you find ways to be proactive.
  • You truly love talking to people and are excited by the idea of helping them ease the chaos in their lives.
  • Challenge and high-pressure situations excite you – you’d much rather be crazy busy than bored.
  • You are resourceful. “I have no idea” is not in your vocabulary.
  • Your communication and customer service skills are in a dead heat for first place – you are not one to shy away from a difficult conversation.
  • While we will provide the training, you come with the emotional maturity and life experience to coach families on issues of childcare.

Some nitty gritty:

This job requires some Saturday work (4-6 times/year) and our team does have a peak season where, to hit your targets, you will find that extra hours may be necessary. After 1 year, you will be invited to travel to an international Cultural Care office. Sometimes we celebrate hitting goals and honoring overseas visitors with evening dinners and events. We also have opportunities to dress up like superheroes and 90’s Rockstars, and attend Disco-themed parties. If you have a problem with this, you should think twice before applying. Our “over-the-top” culture permeates everything we do.

A few of our benefits:

  • Monthly base salary and bonus potential
  • Market-leading health insurance options with Harvard Pilgrim
  • 3 weeks paid vacation (1st year), followed by 4 weeks (2nd year)
  • 25% company match for your 401(k) plan with Fidelity
  • Complimentary in-house language classes
  • Sunny open-concept office space
  • Company match of your charitable contributions (up to $500 per year)

Field Program Director - New England

Brookline-Work From Home

Program Director (Field)Cultural Care Au PairWork from home-based office, East Coast

About Cultural Care:

We help young adults from around the world make the impressive commitment to spend a year living away from family and friends to care for young children in an American host family. We also help support American parents in their search for a unique childcare solution where they welcome this young person from overseas into their home as a member of their family. This program takes a village to pull together and that’s where our team comes in.  We are a worldwide organization based in more than 20 countries.  Employees get excellent benefits (including a great discount for your own au pair childcare) and we focus on having lots of fun along the way.  Beyond loving what we do, we are a solid group. The average tenure of our US staff is 6 years – and increasing!  We are now about 50% based in our Boston and Denver offices and 50% field based.

About the role:

The program director team is the largest group of the field-based teams at Cultural Care. They directly manage a team of independent contractors and are fully responsible for the management of the region they cover, with a heavy emphasis on conflict resolution and mediation. It’s like running a small town every day; lots of interesting stories, not for the faint of heart but the wins are way worth celebrating.  Some people say they are making a difference. We truly are. Every day.

We are looking for a superstar candidate to grow our team. This is a truly unique and diverse role in which your aptitude for active listening, conflict resolution, keeping details straight and executing on a strategy are all equally important. There are even some sales elements in here. You will be responsible for goals and growth within your region. There are many different parts to the role, all of them important, all of them competing for your attention. Sound overwhelming? It can be. If you’re the type that thrives on a challenge, we’re looking for you.

Some things about you:

  • You think strategically but know how stay on top of your details.
  • When we look up multi-tasking, your picture is there.
  • Difficult conversations, conflict resolution and high-pressure situations excite you.
  • You are resourceful; “I have no idea” is not in your vocabulary.
  • Your communication and customer service skills are in a dead heat for first place.
  • You are a leader, not a follower. Quite literally for 5 years or more.
  • You’ve (finally) learned how to mentor, coach and teach others to fish rather than doing it all yourself.

Some nitty gritty:

As we mentioned, it’s a work from home role. The expectation there is that you have the space, a computer, hard drive memory & high-speed wired internet connection to work from home.  We do a rotating Saturday schedule and on-call schedule so you can expect to occasionally work on the weekends and evenings during the year.  There are also 2-3 times a year where you will have travel opportunities.

There are a lot of benefits beyond dress code that a work from home role brings. You know, daily homemade lunches, no commuting road-rage. And you can be home for that 4 hour window that the cable company gives you. Having said that, our field-based positions are full-time 9-5:30 jobs (or longer depending on your workload that day) where the phones will be ringing and Skype will be jumping. Home based?  Yes. Flex-time? Not so much. Still, the dress code is easy and the coffee is as good as you make it.

About EF Education First:We’re 43,500 small. We’re teachers and students, creatives and analysts, visionaries and doers. We are 120 nationalities—and counting.
