Au pair stories

Last week, Cultural Care au pairs, LCCs and staff volunteered at Cradles to Crayons in Brighton, Massachusetts on behalf of Cultural Care Kids First Foundation. Cradles to Crayons is a local charity organization that helps to provide essentials like school supplies to warm coats for children in need.

Au pairs organize clothing and supplies for under-privileged children in MA.

The group created “KidPacks” for disadvantaged children across the state of Massachusetts. Together with their host children, host parents, and Cultural Care staff, au pairs from 22 different countries inspected, sorted, and packaged donations. Au pairs loved the opportunity to help other children in their larger community.

Many au pairs expressed thanks for the opportunity to volunteer.

It was Czech au pair Kateřina Škorvanová’s first time volunteering in the USA, and she was motivated by her experience to do more charity work, “it made me feel really grateful for everything I have. That event inspired me to get more involved in children’s charity and volunteering”.

Cultural Care Kids First Foundation, or Kids First, is a charitable foundation created to help children in need all over the world.

There are always ways to get involved in charity work and lending an extra helping hand those in need. Contact your LCC to see if there are upcoming volunteer opportunities or events in your community. LCCs organize Kids First events every year—an easy way to get involved and give back! Kids First would love to thank everyone involved in this extremely successful event.
