September 20, 2013

To make this craft with your kids, download and print the Rosemaling template from Cultural Care Au Pair.

Rosemaling means “decorative painting” in Norweigian and is used to describe the form of folk art that originated in rural Norway. This type of painting has been used since the mid 1700’s to decorate home interiors, trunks, bowls, cabinets and other furniture. Rosemaling is characterized by stylized flowers and scrolls, made by blended paint colors.
