Pisanka are beautiful eggs decorated using a wax-resist method. They are traditional to the Ukraine and other parts of Eastern Europe, including Poland. Most designs feature geometric figures and are created for the Easter holiday. Make some of your own this Easter season.
Cut out the shape of an egg from the paper plate. Use lots of different color crayons to fill in the entire egg in patches of color. Color over the entire colored egg with black crayon. Use a toothpick to etch a design through which the colored area will show.
