Childcare you can trust like family

Consider hosting an au pair versus sending your children to daycare or hiring a nanny and you may be surprised! Au pairs provide the best of both worlds—the individual attention and convenience families are looking for at an affordable cost. Plus, they bring a new cultural perspective into your home!

What is an au pair?

Au pairs are young adults from overseas who live with you as a family member and provide culturally enriching childcare. Families gain peace of mind knowing their children are well-cared for and loved by someone who becomes like an older sibling.

  • Au pairs come from 20+ countries
  • Au pairs are between the ages of 18-26
  • Au pairs commit to at least 12 months and have the option to extend for 6, 9, or 12 months with the same family or a new one

How do I qualify?

Host families should embrace the cultural exchange spirit of the program, and welcome their au pair as an extended member of their family. In addition, some of the basic requirements to be eligible to host an au pair with Cultural Care include:

  • Providing a suitable private bedroom for your au pair
  • Being a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident
  • Passing a criminal background check

What our families are saying…

The Stupl family, CA
“We were originally on the fence between a daycare, and an au pair. We are very glad that we chose an au pair. Since coming to live with us and take care of Eric, Alyssa has sought out library story times on her own, helped us find the best parks in the area, and has identified some excellent local enriching activities for toddlers. Most importantly, Alyssa has become our son’s best friend. When she makes him laugh, it is pure joy to watch!”
The Prieto family, PA
“Whether she is concocting a way to have my husband return early from a trip to arrange a surprise for my birthday, preparing Argentinian food for us to share, or just hearing her say “Hola Maxi!”, Anto is constantly looking for ways to infuse joy into our family. I have told her many times, I am a better mother because of her, and we are a better family for having her be a part of it.”
The Jung family, WA
“We are so grateful and thankful that Paloma has joined our family. We are so fortunate to have such a thoughtful and wonderful au pair with us. She is truly apart of our family. We have shared with multiple other Seattle families to join Cultural Care Au Pair because of our wonderful experience with Paloma.”
