Become a Local Childcare Consultant

At Cultural Care Au Pair, we assist families in securing flexible, multi-cultural childcare and help young people from abroad fulfill a dream to live in the USA. Our Local Childcare Consultants (LCCs) represent Cultural Care in communities all across the country, and, as W-9 independent contractors, LCCs enjoy the ability to earn monthly compensation, commissions, and rewards!

What do LCCs do?

1. Host meetings
As an LCC, you’ll plan and host bi-annual, community-building events for host families and au pairs. You may also choose to offer more frequent meet-ups to help au pairs make friends and experience American traditions.
2. Interview families
When a local family applies to our program, you’ll conduct an interview to determine their suitability and review guidelines. After their au pair arrives, you’ll check in to make sure things are going well.
3. Support participants
You’ll provide year-round support to your group of local host families and au pairs through regular check-ins and share additional guidance and advice when needed.
4. Grow the program
To help more local families learn about and take advantage of our program, you’ll become the local expert on au pair childcare and share what you know with interested parents.

Why join our team?

Share your passion for cultural exchange

Join our mission to make the world a better place by breaking down barriers and connecting people from around the world.

Make a positive impact on your community

Bring the world to your neighborhood by helping local families welcome au pairs from 25+ countries.

Build a network of global colleagues and friends

Meet, travel and connect with like-minded people all over the world—many of whom become lifelong friends.

“As an LCC I love the flexibility I have. With two small kids, I’m able to be there for them when it matters. And I love that my kids are able to meet people from all over the world and be exposed to their languages and cultures.”

— Maya Sutherland, LCC in FL

“My friends call our house IHOP—International House of People. They say: ‘You never know who’s going to be at Dennis and Jean Ann’s and from what country’. We’ve learned so much from our au pairs about different countries and customs.”

— Dennis & Jean Ann Bjonfald, LCCs in Minnesota

“I’m so grateful to have some amazing LCC friends all over the country. I’ve been able to travel with many of them and when you travel and go somewhere new and experience something different, you build a bond that can last a lifetime.”

— Meaghan Vranas, LCC in Maryland

“Our mission is to create global relationships and global families with the intent of changing the world. And being a part of this program—sharing the experience of cultural exchange—one thing we realize is, as much as we are different, we are all very much the same.”

— Val Lobban, LCC in DC
