Creating a Global Family
WATCH: Host family/au pair bonds that last a lifetime

When Cultural Care host parents Amy and Greg Pond were invited to their former au pair’s wedding in Colombia, they knew they had to say yes. It was a perfect opportunity to reunite with several of their former au pairs (they’ve hosted six from Colombia, nine in total!) – but also to introduce their twin eight-year-old daughters, Mia and Sadie, to international travel. After all, Amy and Greg’s deep desire to raise them as global citizens is what sparked their interest in hosting au pairs in the first place.

Today, after their weeklong trip to Colombia, the Pond family’s connections with their former Colombian au pairs have only been strengthened. They’ve returned to the U.S. with full hearts, countless more memories and a rejuvenated passion for the au pair program.
