Cultural Care offers many opportunities for you and your au pair to connect with us to get helpful tips, gain support, and build community—both virtually and in person. Below you will find this month’s calendar of virtual sessions for members of the Cultural Care community.

For host families

Host Family Rematch Support Sessions
Join for a 30-minute virtual session, offered every Wednesday, to understand rematch while reflecting on how to optimize your experience. We will share valuable tips to part ways with your current au pair, considerations for a smooth rematch, interview tips, and available resources and support networks.
Preparing for Your Au Pair’s Arrival
You will be guided through the logistical practicalities of getting ready for your au pair. Everything from outfitting your au pair’s bedroom to putting them on your auto insurance and phone plan will be covered, so you can roll out the welcome mat with confidence and start a successful relationship together.
Matching and Interviewing Strategies
At first glance, the au pair matching pool may be exciting or overwhelming. Gain new insights into the best ways to approach the matching process and conduct thorough interviews so you can be confident in your search for an au pair.
Driving and Car Use

Learn the top tips to be a successful host family! You can also hear about the resources we offer host families and au pairs for support throughout their year. We share with you the latest virtual events provided to host families and au pairs to facilitate connection.
Proactive Communication and Working through Challenges
Proactive communication in a safe space will help you and your au pair establish healthy communication habits and prepare you to manage the inevitable speed bumps that arise during your time together. Join us to learn how to listen to each other and have healthy conversations even when emotions are running high.
My Au Pair Arrived! Now What?
During this session, we will cover a wide range of topics, from applying for your au pair’s Social Security Card and Drivers License to navigating their health insurance, building your house rules, communicating effectively, and managing cultural differences.
